Red River Ski Area has been a family favorite for generations. Families who come here from all over the country appreciate that 90% of Red River’s lodging is within walking distance of the slopes and that two out of six chair lifts rise directly from town.

Families also like the fact that diversions for non-skiers are as varied as our terrain - and equally accessible. Here parents can give their kids a little freedom and enjoy a little freedom of their own, be it on the slopes, on a snowmobile, cross country skiing, out on the town or sightseeing.

Still, what families find most appealing about Red River is our warm, vibrant people. If you’re lucky, you’ll meet an old-timer who’ll thrill your children with tall tales about greedy gold miners, rugged mountain men, and other colorful characters who first settled our high mountain valley 107 year years ago. On the slopes, you’re certain to encounter friendly locals, who’ll share their knowledge of our 10,350-foot ski mountain with you.

So while it’s our family-oriented atmosphere that’s likely to bring you here, it’s our family-friendly people who are certain to lure you back.
